Spanish Grammar Lesson with the Progressive Verb Tense.

In British , it's the auxiliary verb "to be" and the present participle. The present tense is employed much more often in British than it is employed in Spanish. In Spanish, the present tense is used to stress that an action is taking place now. But many Spanish grammar books don't indicate that there's another use for the present progressive tense. I was making an attempt to tell an adult that I am learning Spanish. Since the Spanish grammar books taught me the Spanish present progressive tense is only used to explain actions that are in progress "right now," I didn't use the present progressive tense to assert that "I am learning Spanish.

"Because I wasn't learning Spanish at that particular moment. At that really moment, I was attempting to talk to her in Spanish. So I attempted telling my nextdoor neighboor's 5 years old that "Yo aprendo espaol" who proudly corrected my Spanish. Here's an example of a reflexive verb being employed in British : I wash myself.

Spanish reflexive verbs consist of a verb and a reflexive pronoun. The following are reflexive pronouns or objects of reflexive verbs. I wash myself However, when there are 2 verbs in the sentence, the reflexive pronoun either comes right before the 1st verb or follows the second verb.

These are some examples using reflexive verbs. Me afeito I shave myself Te duchas You take a shower Se llama Juan He calls himself John Nos dormimos We go to sleep No nos sentamos we do not sit down Se enojan They get insane Se levantan All of you get up Te cepillas los dientes You brush your gnashers. =========================================================== Who else wants to find out how to communicate Spanish like a genuine Latin American? Learning Spanish Grammar and the verb "Gustar".

" But in many examples, Spanish speakers use it the same way that we use the verb "to like. "In Spanish you would say : "Me gusta el perro". That means "the dog is pleasing to me. She loves the streams Le gustan los arroyos. In Spanish, a verb is regarded reflexive if the topic ( the performer of the action ) and the object ( the receiver of the action ) are the same. In the above sentence the verb "wash" is regarded reflexive as the subject or the one performing the action ( "I" ) and the object or the one receiving the action ( "myself" ) are the same.

But if you would like to claim that you like somebody as in "I get along well with ( name )," there's an other way to claim it. Literally, it suggests "Carmen falls well on me. Spanish Grammar Lesson with the Progressive Verb Tense.

In British , it's the auxiliary verb "to be" and the present participle. In layperson terms, the "present participle" means verbs with "ing" attached to the end of the verb. And therefore the present progressive tense can be employed to stress that an action is constant. As embarrassing as it is to confess, a 5 year old tiny girl corrected my Spanish grammar. The 1st time it happened it occurred with an adult. Since the Spanish grammar books taught me the Spanish present progressive tense is only used to explain actions that are in progress "right now," I didn't use the present progressive tense to claim that "I am learning Spanish. At that terribly moment, I was attempting to talk to her in Spanish. At the time, I was under the impression that perhaps she was inaccurate and that my textbook was right.

So I attempted telling my next door neighboor's 5 year old that "Yo aprendo espaol" who proudly corrected my Spanish. Here's an example of a reflexive verb being employed in British : I wash myself. Here is a really great article on the topic of learn Spanish interactive. In the above sentence the verb "wash" is regarded reflexive as the subject or the one performing the action ( "I" ) and the object or the one receiving the action ( "myself" ) are the same. On the other hand, if I claimed "I wash the baby," the verb "wash" is not reflexive because the topic or the one performing the action ( "I" ) and the object or the one receiving the action ( "baby" ) are not the same. Spanish reflexive verbs consist of a verb and a reflexive pronoun. Me myself teyourself ( t form ) seyourself ( usted form ) nosourselves sethemselves, yourselves When there's only 1 verb in the sentence, the reflexive pronoun must come before the reflexive verb. Best Places - Mexico

What are the best places in Mexico? It depends if you prefer sunny beaches, architecture, granite peaks or coral reefs.

While it is certainly possible to travel to Mexico without knowing any Spanish, your trip will in no way compare with the incredible adventure that awaits the traveler who speaks Spanish. So, it is recommended to learn basic Spanish.

Best Places - Mexico

1. Mexico City

Long overlooked, Mexico City is now on every style-setter's radar thanks to its design-forward hotels, boutiques, and restaurants. And did we mention the late nights?

Mexico City, with its multitude of museums, vibrant music and arts scene and delightful parks and architecture, is a treasure trove for the intrepid traveler on a budget.

2. Mazatlán

As resort towns go, Mazatlán is one of Mexico's prettiest, with an assortment of 19th-century neoclassical, republican, and French baroque buildings in pastel colors. The best place for wandering is Old Mazatlán, particularly the tree-lined streets around Plazuela Machado, where guitarists and singers roam from one sidewalk café to the next.

3. Acapulco

Acapulco got its glamorous start in the 1950s and '60s, when celebrities like Frank Sinatra, Elizabeth Taylor, and Judy Garland turned the exclusive hotels on the rugged cliffs over the bay into their playground.

4. Los Cabos

Wedged between granite peaks and the water on the tip of Baja California, Los Cabos has one of Mexico's most dramatic settings. But a less-than-thrilling 20-mile-long tourist corridor connects the towns of San José del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas, making it all the more appealing to choose a town and stick with it.

5. Cancún

Cancún may never shake its reputation as a rowdy college-party destination, but outside of spring-break season, the city is a surprisingly subdued place. The peninsula is where most of the major resorts are located, so if you're looking for character, it's best to head downtown on the mainland.

6. Cozumel

Surrounded by vibrantly colored coral reefs, the island of Cozumel, 11 miles off the Yucatán coast, has been attracting divers since Jacques Cousteau popularized it in the 1960s. The most central place to be situated for day trips around the island is the town of San Miguel, which has a number of reasonably priced guesthouses.

Knowing Spanish will completely transform your travel experience.

If you only speak English, you will be forced to confine yourself to popular tourist resorts where nearly everyone speaks some English. But if you want to explore the area and get to know the local people, you need to know Spanish. Even simple things, such as reading signs and menus, asking directions or telling a cab driver where you want to go requires some knowledge of the language. Hispanic people are amazingly generous, and if you speak Spanish you will find yourself being welcomed in a way that would never happen if you spoke only English. Simply put, when you travel to a Spanish speaking country, knowing the language will allow you to move from the role of observer to that of an active participant.

Start Learning Basic Spanish - What Is The Best Learning Spanish Software?

Do you want to start learning basic Spanish? Ask various people what the best way to learn Spanish is and you will get many different answers - personal Spanish teacher, traditional classes, books or audios. Interactive, modern, effective, fast...way to learn language is using computer. However what is the best learning Spanish software? I can recommend you to read this review written by Chris Pearson. I hope this will be helpfull.

Rocket Spanish

Rocket Spanish is a modern learning Spanish software. Unlike many other Spanish learning products, it can be downloaded over the Internet. It took me about 25 minutes to download it with a broadband connection. The Rocket Spanish site has a provision for dial-up Internet but I believe this would take longer to download. (There is also a provision to buy the course as a hardcopy but it is considerably more expensive than the downloaded version and will take longer to receive)

What level is Rocket Spanish?

The courses caters for people new to learning Spanish. It aims to take beginners, through intermediate levels, to an advanced knowledge of the Spanish language.

How does it teach Spanish?

The course comprises 31 lessons.
The first 12 lessons are beginner lessons. 9 intermediate lessons build on the basics. The remaining lessons are more applied and feature real life situations where you can follow a conversation, for example, in a restaurant.
Each lesson can take between 30 minutes to 1.5 hours, depending on the skill level of the student and the knowledge of the topic being covered.

How is a lesson taught?

The topics of the lesson are introduced along with any new Spanish words. The student will read through the introduction. Any Spanish words can be clicked on and the audio for the word will be heard. The audio takes the following format : first, the English equivalent is spoken, then the Spanish. Then there is a pause and the Spanish is spoken again. This gives the student a chance to speak the Spanish and practise what he/she is learning.
More examples will be given of the topic and examples of how it is used.
A variety of written and multiple choice type exercises end the lesson.
The Random button can be pushed at any time and a Spanish sentence or word from the current lesson will be spoken. This can allow the student to practise conversation and comprehension for this particular lesson.

Any other teaching methods used ?

There are two games that are used to teach :
MegaVocab - vocabulary recognition, match one of 6 pictures to a word picked at random by the software
MegaAudio – comprehension, listen to audio of a word or sentence and guess which of the 4 pictures represent the audio.
These games are useful to consolidate the knowledge learned in the lessons or as a warm up exercise before the lessons begin.
Flash cards are provided :
154 beginner flash cards
123 advanced flash cards

What is good about the course?

The course builds from beginner to advanced. It will give the student a complete grasp of the Spanish Language at the end of the course.
Random button is good for adding a bit of spontaneity to the lesson. This is useful if you have done the lesson more than once and need to freshen it up a little.

What is bad about the course?

The pictures in the megavocab are a bit misleading at times which makes guessing the correct words difficult.
You can only improve your pronunciation by listening and repeating the audio, no feedback is given by the software as to how your accent sounds.

Any bonuses?

If you are still unsure about Rocket Spanish then you can sign up for the free 6 day course . This will give you a taste of the full course and how it is taught.
Once you have bought the course, you will be sent the Rocket Spanish newsletter every fortnight. The newsletter has a new lesson in each issue.

Summary

I think the content and scope of the Rocket Spanish course represents good value. Although it will take some work for a new student to learn Spanish, Rocket Spanish can certainly make this effort easier.
Go to the Rocket Spanish website for more details and testimonials.

Learning Basic Spanish - Do You Want To Learn A New Language?

Do you want to learn a new language? How about start Learning Basic Spanish? It is the fourth most popular language in the world. Imagine vacationing in Spain, Costa Rica, Venezuela or Mexico and speaking to the native people in their own language. Learning even the basic Spanish can also open doors at home too, both in your personal and professional life. If you dont have time to take traditional Spanish class, the best way to learn Spanish grammar and vocabulary is online on the computer. It is very convenient solution especially for busy person - you can learn at your own pace.

What is the best Learning Spanish Software? I can recommend you to read this review written by Fabian Tan.

Rocket Spanish Review

Rocket Spanish is an interesting and unique language product. As one of the lowest-cost options on the market, this course has been very popular with many would-be Spanish speakers. This seems to be the case for a few reasons but in this article we will attempt to reveal the truth behind Rocket Spanish and provide an honest review on whether or not it is worth your time and investment.

There are two options available when you are led to the Rocket Spanish sales page. You can buy a digital download version or a physical version which is shipped to your door. At the time of writing, the physical version is much more expensive at $299.95 plus $49.95 for shipping. The instant download version is available at less than one third of that price at $99.95. I recommend the digital version because you will get instant access to the lessons. Now that we know about these two options, let’s talk about the course itself!

If you are a busy person who is trying to learn a new language, you would probably prefer to go with a convenient solution, where you can learn at your pace. This is one plus point of Rocket Spanish. It gives you instant access to step-by-step audio lessons and even games. I must say the games are a really neat addition. They really make learning Spanish fun and interactive!

For the audio lessons itself, they are narrated by friendly voices, so you will have no trouble following them. They are concise and go straight to the point, so you can start grasping the fundamentals of the language almost immediately. You can even download the audio files on to your iPod or CD, so you can learn away from the computer while you are having a jog or just relaxing on your sofa.

Also included are 500 pages of material. This is the real meat of the course, and although there are many pages, all of them are easy to digest. You can print them out so you can learn them at your leisure, there is just that much material! Note: There is a real emphasis on pronunciation skills, which are often not covered well enough in traditional Spanish classes. This can be really helpful.

In addition, there are also additional exercises included and a memory game called MegaCards. This is where you really take what you learn and apply it, before using them in real-life situations. The best way to fully utilise Rocket Spanish is to listen to the audio lessons, read the material and do the exercises before proceeding to speak the language. When the time comes when you do not need to repeatedly refer to the materials, that’s when you know you are getting comfortable with simple Spanish grammar and sentences.

The best way to learn Spanish is probably to live in a Spanish-speaking country, but if that is not an option, Rocket Spanish is probably the fastest and easiest alternative to get a command of Spanish that you can use in your everyday life. Whether you are having a tough time coping with Spanish lessons in school, looking to use the language in business, or simply looking to add another language to your repertoire, Rocket Spanish might just be right for you.

Best Places - Costa Rica

Where you can find the best places, Costa Rica?
Costa Rica, with its warm tropical climate, beautiful Pacific and Atlantic coast beaches, unspoiled rainforests and national parks, and more temperate mountainous regions bathed by virgin streams and rivers offers an ideal setting for the person who wants to live their dream. However where are the best places, Costa Rica?

1. Corcovado National Park

The best time to visit is during the dry season of January-April.
You will find mangrove swamp, jolillo palm groves, montane forest, and coastal beaches.
Wildlife: Scarlet macaws, Jaguars and other Big Cats, Monkeys, Reptiles, Amphibians, Peccaries, Tapirs and others

2. Manuel Antonio National Park

Manuel Antonio National Park' is one of the smallest, yet most beautiful national parks of Costa Rica. Rich green jungles filled with wildlife, blend into beautiful white beaches and the blue pacific. The park includes plenty of good hiking trails and beaches perfect for swimming.

One of the most popular tours that has caught on like wildfire in Manuel Antonio is the canopy zip line. Titi Canopy Tours allows you to swing through the tops of the rain forest.

3. Puerto Viejo de Talamanca

Puerto Viejo de Talamanca is a decidedly Caribbean concoction of perfect beaches, spectacular surfing and laid-back attitude, spiced up with the most happening music, nightlife and restaurant scene on the coast.

In Conclusion

The official language in Costa Rica is Spanish. Learning even the basic Spanish is recommended.

Knowing even a little Spanish ahead of time help you communicate more successfully, especially considering that a great number of Spanish speakers do not know English.

Whether giving an address in a taxi, making reservations in a hotel, ordering food or drinks in a restaurant, or meeting the locals at the main hang-out, your travel experience will be much smoother and more enjoyable when you can communicate.

If you take a little time to learn Spanish phrases before heading off to distant lands, your understanding and appreciation for the places you visit will be improved tremendously.

Best Places - Costa Rica

Wandering what are the best places, Costa Rica while planning your trip to Costa Rica?

With almost a quarter of the land either a national park or a protected area, opportunities to explore natural wonders are abundant. However what are the best places, Costa Rica?

1. Arenal Volcano

It is one of the most active volcanoes in the world.
Arenal Volcano is located not far from the town of La Fortuna, 5 hours north of San Jose, Costa Rica%u2019s capital.

Day trips leave San Jose in the morning, let you wander around the volcano in the afternoon, and see the glowing red lava flows roll down the slopes as you soak in a relaxing thermal bath at night. Most decide to stay in one of the many hotels surrounding the volcano that have picture perfect views from every room. Cheaper lodging is in the town of La Fortuna nearby.

With nightly eruptions that can be seen from hotels and viewpoints surrounding Arenal Volcano, the volcano is the main attraction. It sits in the Parque Nacional Arenal, or Arenal National Park, which is home to diverse rainforest plants and a wide variety of wildlife such as brightly colored birds, Capuchin monkeys, Howler monkeys, Coati, and others.

2. Monteverde

Monteverde, including the Cloud Forest Biological Reserve, was the highlight of my trip to Costa Rica. Beautiful, natural environment. Monteverde rainforests have majestically tall trees festooned with orchids, bromeliads, ferns, vines, and mosses. Spectacular wildlife includes the Jaguar, Ocelot, Baird´s Tapir, Three-wattled Bellbird, Bare necked Umbrella bird and much more.

3. Corcovado

Corcovado is one of "the most biologically intense places on earth", according to National Geographic. Its rain forest are by far the most exuberant in Central America. 500 different variety of trees grow here and up to 100 species can be found growing on just 2 acres of land.

The Park is home to Giant Anteaters, Tapirs, Sloths and a few big cat species, like the Jaguar, Ocelot, Pumas and Margay. Four species of Monkeys live in the trees overhead: the Howler, White-Faced Capuchin, Spider and Squirrel Monkey.

In Conclusion

The official language in Costa Rica is Spanish. Learning basic Spanish is recommended.

A great thing about speaking Spanish is that whenever you are traveling you will realize that the native people of the country tend to change their attitude towards you. They become more accommodating and much nicer whenever you converse to them in their native language. They will see that you are exerting extra effort to speak their language and they will feel honored and proud to talk and to help you. An additional benefit of immersing in a Spanish speaking community or state is that you will be able to greatly appreciate their culture.
There are few things more frustrating while traveling than getting lost.
